The connection between gut and mental health can't be overstated. While we've always known that psychological problems can drive gut trouble, we now know the reverse is also true: GI issues can create mental disorders like anxiety and depression. This is one of the many reasons that my holistic approach to counseling clients includes nutrition. We simply cannot separate mind and body.
