“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” ― Viktor E. Frankl
Counseling Services
Individual & Couples Counseling
Most of my clients are high-achieving professionals seeking individual or couple's counseling for issues involving anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship issues, substance abuse, work-life conflict, trauma, infidelity, and loss. I have also worked extensively with clients who have been affected by domestic and sexual violence and those in the LGBTQQIAA community. Working together, I help clients tap into wisdom and strengths they already possess while cultivating the insight and coping skills they need to re/connect with who and what matters most. As a lawyer-turned-psychotherapist, I combine strategic thinking with a warm, empathic therapeutic approach based on the recognition that clients are the experts on themselves. Drawing on techniques from mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, motivational interviewing, hypnotherapy, EMDR, and cognitive behavioral science, I help clients to tap into their innate wisdom and strengths so they can live their best lives.
Mind-Body Health Coaching
As a certified holistic health coach, I help clients understand and internalize the World Health Organization's holistic definition of wellbeing as a "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being." Developing and sustaining healthy habits around nutrition, sleep, exercise, and social engagement are essential components of symptom reduction. As clients feel better, they gain more capacity to do the work of therapy, enabling them to move beyond merely surviving to thriving in all dimensions of their lives.
Mindfulness & Stress Reduction
Holocaust survivor Victor Frankl said, “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” I work with clients to help them harness the power to choose their response (rather than simply react) through mindfulness-based practices. Research has established that mindfulness and meditation practices enhance overall well-being in terms of stress reduction, enhanced memory and executive functioning, decreased reactivity, increased relationship satisfaction, pain reduction, and increased self-compassion. Mindfulness also helps us tap into the innate wisdom of the body, which can provide invaluable insights and pathways to healing. I help clients explore and cultivate mindfulness and meditation practices tailored to fit their lifestyles and needs.
